FALL FEELS LIKE “NEW YEARS DAY”
I’m married to a teacher, and my 2 boys are in school (one graduates this year!), so for me September – and in particular BACK TO SCHOOL – feels like the New Year.
In light of that, I like to set goals to inspire me to work hard & improve personally & professionally.
So far I have enrolled for a Professional Art course (5 days) in California, which takes place later in the month.
A few other things I have tackled this week are as follows:
– haircut & colour
– makeover (I went to Shoppers Drug Mart in Walnut Grove – the ladies that work there are so professional & lovely!! Thanks Katie :0)
– I have re-written my Artist Statement
A few of the commitments I have made are:
– Lose my ‘Summer pounds’…..Why do I gain weight every summer? It’s the time of year you are supposed to be your leanest. I did it again!!
– Create regular Blog postings (avg. 2/week)
So I have my work cut out for me! Goals need to be measurable & achievable. It is good to have someone to be accountable to….someone that isn’t afraid to “call you on it” if you aren’t on track. In the past I have relied upon my friend, Marie, to be my “accountability partners” – I will contact her this week.
I notice a big difference in my productivity and outlook on life when I’m keeping my commitments – no matter how small they might be.
I’d love to hear about your goals / commitments, so we can encourage & inspire each other!
